Toehold Technology won the 2024 Science and Technology Award of China Transportation Association

Recently, the selection results of the 2024 China Transportation Association Science and Technology Awards were announced. The project "Intelligent Safety Management Technology and Application for Subway Station Construction Adjacent to Highly Sensitive Structures in Cold Regions", jointly submitted by Shanghai Toehold Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toehold Technology"), CCCC Tunnel Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., CCCC First Highway Engineering Bureau Third Engineering Co., Ltd., Harbin Institute of Technology, and CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Bureau Third Engineering Co., Ltd., was honored with the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award!

Approved by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards, this award is a nationally recognized scientific and technological honor in the transportation industry, aiming to recognize achievements with significant innovation and social benefits.

Focused on key safety risk management technologies for subway station construction in cold regions, this project achieved critical breakthroughs through theoretical research and engineering practice in safety assessment methods, intelligent monitoring and early warning, and active control technologies. It innovatively established a thermal-mechanical coupling model for underground engineering considering frost heave effects, achieving millimeter-level active control of permanent-temporary structural deformation through servo-supported active coordination technology. The project also developed a multi-objective optimization method for subway station design based on Discrete Event Simulation-Finite Element Method (DES-FEM), and created computer vision-based intelligent risk identification and early warning technology. Integrated with structural automated monitoring, a digital twin management platform for safety during large-scale complex subway station construction was established, forming a comprehensive intelligent safety management technology system for cold region subway construction. The research outcomes provide reliable technical support for subway station construction in complex environments, reaching an internationally advanced level.
